どうして式典での校長の話ってあんなにも長いのだろう……。
１時間の式典の予定が校長のせいで30分長引き、帰りのＨＲが終わる頃にはすったりお昼の時間になっていた。

「さて、どうするか」

今日は弁当を作っていないし、学食は開いているが学食って気分ではない。
結局のところ寮に戻るかと優騎がバック片手に席を立とうとすると、不意にその肩を叩かれる。

「よっ」

「……なんだ涼平に友哉か」

後ろにいたのはニコニコ笑う少年と髪をばれない程度に明るく染めた少年だった。

「お疲れ様。この後時間あるかな？」

ニコニコとしているのが佐藤友哉で――

「メシ食いに行こうぜ」

――染めている方が池田涼平。
2人はこのクラスの中で少ない去年からのクラスメイトで、優騎とは仲のいい友人だ。

「食べに行くのは問題ないけど、何処に行くんだ？」
「駅前のラーメン屋。期間限定のラーメンが出たんだって」

友哉はそう言ってバックの中からチラシを取り出す。

「……期間限定"桜吹雪ラーメン"」

書かれた新メニューの名前に不安を感じ、優騎はその下の写真を見る。

一言でそのラーメンを表すならそれはピンクの３文字。
スープに麺、具材までピンク一色。
大丈夫かこのラーメン屋。

「普通のラーメンを食べてもいいなら行こう」

「もちろん。僕もあのラーメンだけは食べないつもりだし……」

「嘘だろ？超エキサイティングじゃんか。俺は食うぜ！」

その後、優騎と友哉は後店に着くまで何度も涼平に一緒に食べようと誘われるが、そのたびに丁重に断り続けるのだった。
