「それって最近噂の"ゲームへの招待状"ってやつじゃないか？」

「ゲームへの招待状？」

翌日、学校にいた友人に昨晩あった事を話すと予想外の返答がかえってきた。


その後の授業中、俺は先程聞いた話を思い出していた。
友人が知る噂によれば、そのゲームの名前は"アドミレーション"と言うらしい。
らしいというのは複数ある噂によって名前が違うからで、どれもゲーム内容は同じだと言う。

尊敬、または憧れる人の能力で対戦相手を倒していくゲーム。
どうせ噂だと友人は笑っていたが、俺は笑えなかった。

教師が黒板に向かい俺を見ていない事を確認し、俺は携帯を開く。
今では珍しくなったガラケーの画面には今朝気が付いたメールが開かれたままだ。

『登録が完了しました。
これより貴方もこのゲームのプレーヤーです。
明日、貴方専用のナビゲーターを送ります。詳しいゲーム内容などはそちらのナビゲーターをご利用下さい。
それでは、ゲームスタートです』

そう書かれた文の下、そこには俺の能力の説明文が書かれている。

これは悪ふざけだと言ってくれと俺はその時まで願っていた。

ふざけたゲームはもう始まっていると言うのにだ。
