「ってな訳で、他寮の今日の献立を聞きたいんだけど」

『言ってる意味が全くわからないんだが……』

新しい寮生のために今日の夕食は少し頑張ってみようと思った優騎は近くのスーパーにきていた。

「しょうがない。もう一度説明するぞ」

スーパーに来てから同じ状況の他寮の夕食って何なのだろうと思った彼は他寮にいる友人にその事を聞くため―――

『なるほど、大体解った』

「……俺、まだ何も言って無いんだけど」

電話の相手、去年まで同じだった佐野城孝幸は電話ごしに笑い優騎はとりあえずと安いニンジンをカゴに入れる。

『そうそう夕食のメニューだったな。うちの寮は毎年鍋って決まってるんだよ。』

「鍋ね……」

『新入生と同じ鍋をつついて仲良くなるのが目的って先輩が言ってたぞ』

なるほどと電話では見えないはずなのに頷き、優騎は鍋の具材を見る。
高い訳でもないのだが、安い訳でもない微妙な値段だ。

『つかさ、お前の寮って男女どっちも居る寮だったよな？』

「ん？そだね」

『じゃあ男女どっちも好きな食べ物で良いんじゃね？カレーとかハンバーグとかさ』

「…………あー、盲点だった」

孝幸との電話を終え、夕食のメニューはカレーかハンバーグどちらかにしょうと優騎は決めた。
