マスキングテープのフチを1〜2mmカットするとホコリ等で起きる粘着力の低下を防ぐが出来ます

問題のラインはつまようじ等でテープを破らないように密着させると良いですよ

使い勝手は難しいですけど、マスキングゾルはどうでしょう？
液体なのできっちりと保護出来ますよ
