「よし、無理」

ちょうど正午を回った頃、やっぱり諦めたらしい蓮が広がっている宿題を片付けはじめた。

「諦め早くないか？」

寮に今居る6人分の昼食を作る手を止めずに優騎が問う。

「俺、諦めが肝心だと思うんだ」

「……何悟ったこと言ってんだよ」

そう蓮は遠い目をして邪魔な宿題を部屋に置いてくるため一旦リビングから出ていった。

「ユウくーん。お昼はなーに？」

その蓮と入れ代わりでやってきた優騎をユウ君と呼ぶ少女は春崎風華。
この寮の２階にある6号室の住人でピコピコとはねるポニーテールが印象的な娘だ。

「チャーハンだぞ」

「カレー？」

「カニ缶があったからカニ」

「かにっ！」

皿に盛ったチャーハンをテーブルの上に置くと風華はすぐに食べ始め、優騎は一緒に作っていた中華スープをよそう。

「優騎、私は中華スープ多めにしてくれ」

「あいよ」

「ちょっ！桜ちゃんいつの間に！？」

「ん？さっき」

桜と呼ばれた少女は石動桜といい、寮の5号室を使っている。
見た目は"ザ・大和撫子"といった感じで普通にしていればいい娘なのだが、癖で気配を消したりするため浮ついた話はない。

で、優騎の幼なじみだったりする。彼が驚くことなく対応するのは慣れてしまっているため、彼曰く、「一々驚いていたら身がもたん」との事。

「……ユウー、私のも〜」

で眠そうにやってきたのは8号室の橘亜由美。
髪が整っていないところを見ると、彼女は今さっき起きたところなのだろう。
マイペースな娘なのでいつもの事なのだが、明日から新学期なのだが大丈夫だろうか……。
