食事所"ハイマン"
少し遅くなった昼食をとろうと優騎達がやってきたのはパンフレットにも載っていたハモアイスの店だった。

「ユウ兄、私は鱧御膳にする」

「残すなよ？」

「ハモ蕎麦、ハモうどんどちらにすれば……」

「ハーフ&ハーフあるよレンレン」

券売機の前で長い時間を使って全員食べたい物を決め、出来上がったそれを受け取る。

で各自で買ったものはというと
優騎はハモラーメン
マユが鱧御膳
亜由美はハモ天丼を、風華はハモ定食頼み。
蓮は―――――

「蓮、それはなんなんだ」

「……活きの良い鴨蕎麦」

「……活きの良い？」

ハモしゃないのかよと言う言葉より先に優騎の口から出たのはメニューの前についたその言葉だった。

魚に対してはその言葉を聞くが、鳥に対しても同じように使うのだろうか。

「レンレンは水族館まで来て鴨なんだ……」

「ハモとカモを見間違えたんだよ！」

そう涙目で言った蓮は空いていた亜由美の隣に座り、割り箸を荒っぽく割る。
優騎達はそれを見てそれぞれ割り箸を割る。

ふと、風華は甘辛く煮たハモの身をくずしながら気が付いた。

「魚とかの活きの良いって意味はさっきまで生きてたって事だよね？」

「ん？そうなるかな……」

「と言う事はレンレンの食べている鴨は…………」

風華の言葉は言い終わるまえに隣の優騎に口をふさがれ、蓮は彼女が言いたかった事が解ったのか、割り箸を地面に落とした。
