5月に入ってすぐ、明後日にゴールデンウィークを控えたこの日夜、珍しく刻也が四季寮のメンバーをリビングに集めた。

「旬の苺が安かったから買ったんだけど食べる？」

「ユウくんナイス！」

苺好きな風華が席から立ち上がり優騎の元に行く、他に嫌がる人もいないので優騎はパックに入った苺を洗い、風華が綺麗にヘタだけを包丁で切っていく。

それを人数分の硝子の容器に分け、フォークと一緒に全員に渡す。

「優騎、練乳」

「はいはい、買ってあるよ」

「日向先輩、次貸してください」

「おう、了解」

練乳をまわす絋斗とマユ。
その時、刻也がこほんと咳をした。
あー、何か言いたいんだなと刻也を除く全員がわかり一旦、手にしたフォークを止める。

「ゴールデンウィークをどう過ごす？」

「たぶん、全員寮にいると思いますよ」

ゴールデンウィークって言っても休みは5日間だけだ。
自宅に帰るには日数が少ないし、それに部活がある場合もある。
その事をわかっている絋斗が刻也に言い、隣の蓮が頷く。

「どこかに出かけたりしないのかい？」

「俺は部活に休みなんて無いですし出かけないと思います」

「近場になら行くと思うけど遠出はないな〜」

絋斗と蓮は刻也の質問にそう答え、苺を食べる。
だよねー。と優騎やマユも2人言葉に頷く。

要するに、せっかくの連休なのにいつもと変わらないということだ。
