転んだのだろう、
小学生男児が尻餅をついたような姿勢で、立ち上がれないでいた。
通りすがりの女子中学生が心配そうに話しかけているが、ろくに返事もできないようだ。
ひょっとして、救急車レベルなのか？
見ると、怪我は片膝だけ。
出血も少ない。
それくらいで、立てないのか？
これくらいの傷、慣れっこじゃないのか？
やがて、立ち上がることは立ち上がったが、
歩くのもままならない状態だ。
ジェネレーションギャップ──転んだぐらいで歩けなくなったことは、私には一度もない。
これが、いまの現実なのか。
